The Road Not Taken

Sometimes assignments we have in school impacts our lives way down the road.  In the late 1960's, at Henderson Junior High School, we had an English teacher named Doris Reed.  She was adamant about us studying Shakespeare plays and memorizing poetry.  One poem that I chose to memorize was titled "The Road Not Taken", by Robert Frost.   Today as I drove a backwoods road in California, along a Redwood forest, I remembered snippets of that poem.   I realized that in many ways my life has followed the "road" less traveled and like the poem states, it has made all the difference.
